This week we travel down the road to Melton as we take on Melton South this week, and we will be out to record another win as we go about our task of maintaining our place in the 6, but South will be out to upset our plans as they need to win so they can stay in touch with the 6.
Last week, in windy conditions, we saw the Seniors record a good win over Melton. The 1st quarter saw us kicking with the breeze, and we were able to open a handy break, but we saw Melton fight back in the 2nd to hold a narrow half time lead. After regrouping at half time the boys came out strongly to kick 9 goals to 0 in the 3rd quarter to take a good break into the last quarter and we were able to build on that in the last quarter to record a good win. We will need that effort again.
The Reserves also recorded a good win last week. After kicking into the breeze in the 1st quarter we were able to hold Melton, and in the 2nd quarter we used the breeze well to kick 6 goals to 0 to open up a handy break. We were able to hold Melton again in the 3rd quarter and came home strongly in the last to record a 48pt win. A good team effort, and one we will need to produce again this week.
The U/18.5’s also recorded a good win last week. After a slow start that allowed Melton to hold a narrow qtr time lead, the boys came out strongly in the 2nd quarter to kick 8 goals for the quarter to open up a good lead. In the 2nd half they built on that to run out winners by 119pts.
All Netball teams recorded good wins last week as they maintain their good form for the season. The Seniors were able to grab the early lead in their game and they were able to build on that throughout the rest of the game to record a 39 goal win. The Reserves also recorded a good win, with the defence restricting Melton throughout to record a 38 goal win. The U/18.5’s also played well throughout, with the defence being very good to record a 33 goal win. A very good result by all teams and they will be out to repeat that again this week.
